Here’s a young woman who’s taking money matters into her own hands and making a killing. Actress Rachel Fox from the hit T.V. show “Desperate Housewives” has intelligently used her acting career to help her strengthen her financial future by also becoming a sophisticated day trader. This is a clear example of 2 essential qualities for artists of all types. In many of our articles we’ve discussed the “overflow of creativity” and the “Cash Flow Quadrant.”
The Cash Flow Quadrant is a concept of 4 different types of people as originated by Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestselling book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” The basic idea is that most people struggle financially because they only operate in one quadrant or on one side of the quadrant . The problem with this state of mind or condition of existence is that true wealth can only be generated by operating from the B and I quadrants or by earning income from 2 or more quadrants. The 4 types of people you’ll learn about in the Cash Flow Quadrant are employees, self-employed or specialists, business people, and investors. Now the “overflow of creativity” is an idea I created to describe the natural inclination of creative people to expand their reach in order to acquire the rewards from a larger creative conquests. Most artists and celebrities stay within a very narrow field of activity , while far less expand and grow into new areas of creative or artistic discovery. As noted earlier I’m pointing out several positive attributes that Ms. Fox is exemplifying as an actress – investor. Not only is she demonstrating the courage to take control of her financial future, but she is also showing how it’s possible to achieve success in one profession and yet continue to grow into new fields of creative action. Moreover, Ms. Fox has also proven that understanding such matters as the stock market is certainly within the potential of most young adults and that success in the market is also possible with some education and practice.
